How Does the Lotion Pump Work?
Manually press the actuator, the pump spring moves downward, the upper valve opens, and the volume in the reservoir becomes smaller, forming a high pressure. During high pressure, the lower single valve of the reservoir closes to stop the liquid from flowing back into the bottle. At this time, the liquid flows out of the actuator’s mouth into the reservoir.
When you release the actuator, the volume in the reservoir cavity increases to form a negative pressure. The ball valve opens under the action of negative pressure, forcing liquid in the bottle to enter the reservoir cavity. At this moment, there is a portion of liquid in the reservoir cavity. When pressed again, the liquid stored within the valve body will rush upward, through the nozzle, to your hands.

Why Your Lotion pump doesn’t work?
- Why do you press the lotion pump and there is no liquid coming out?
- The length of the dip tube is too long or short to make the dip tube blocked, resulting in high empty pressure or even no liquid.
- The valves in the housing are damaged.
- The large ring of the piston is damaged or defective.
- The actuator of the lotion pump is not able to rebound
- The viscosity of the liquid in the bottle is too high and prevents the spring from springing back. For viscous liquids, it is recommended to use large lotion pumps with high viscosity and big output
- The lower valve of the lotion pump is blocked, the channel cross-section is small, the dip tube is too thin, and the cylinder bore or the piston outer ring is not smooth enough.
- Liquid leakage between the lotion pump and bottle mouth.
- Too much torque was applied to the rotation during filling to damage the lotion pump.
- The bottle height is not high enough to cause the upper end of the bottle mouth and the gasket of the lotion pump to not closely combine after screwing.
